Therapeutic Services

At Anivana, we offer a variety of services because healing doesn’t look the same for everyone. Some people need one-on-one space to talk, others process through art, movement, or EMDR, and some need support within their family system. Animal-assisted therapy is one part of what we offer, but never the whole picture. We believe care works best when it’s flexible, responsive, and tailored to the person in front of us rather than forced into a single approach.

Individual Therapy

Individual therapy at Anivana is a space that’s just for you. It’s a place to slow down, talk openly, and work through whatever you’ve been carrying, whether that’s anxiety, trauma, stress, life transitions, or simply feeling stuck. Sessions are guided by a licensed therapist or supervised intern using evidence-based approaches, with animal-assisted support available if desired. You set the pace. We meet you where you are, without pressure to be anything other than exactly who you are.

EMDR Therapy

EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing) is a structured, evidence-based therapy used to help people process traumatic or overwhelming experiences. Instead of focusing only on talking through the past, EMDR helps the brain reprocess memories in a way that reduces emotional intensity and distress. At Anivana, EMDR is used thoughtfully and at a pace that feels safe, with care taken to make sure you feel supported every step of the way. Animal-assisted support may be included if helpful, but the therapy itself is always grounded in clinical practice.

Family Therapy

Family therapy at Anivana focuses on strengthening communication, rebuilding trust, and helping families understand one another in healthier ways. Whether you’re navigating conflict, big life changes, behavioral concerns, or ongoing tension, sessions provide a space where everyone can be heard without blame or pressure. Therapy is guided by a licensed therapist or supervised intern using evidence-based approaches, with animal-assisted support available when helpful. The goal isn’t to “fix” one person, it’s to support the whole system in finding steadier ground together.

Art Group Therapy (Adolescent and Adult)

Art groups at Anivana give clients a way to express things that are hard to put into words. Through creative activities guided by a therapist, participants can explore emotions, reduce stress, and build connection in a supportive group setting. No artistic skill is required. The focus isn’t on creating something “good,” it’s on creating something honest. Art therapy can be especially helpful for children, teens, and anyone who processes better through their hands than through conversation alone.

Walking Therapy

Walk-and-talk sessions offer therapy in motion, out on Colorado’s trails instead of inside an office. For some people, moving while talking makes it easier to open up, regulate emotions, and think more clearly. Being outside can lower stress, improve focus, and help conversations feel more natural and less intense. These sessions are still structured, clinical therapy, just with fresh air and a little room to breathe. Walk-and-talk therapy is offered by select providers and depends on safety, weather, and client needs.
